Going Green

I also did a t-shirt adjudication last month for the glass recycling company. A whole bunch of kids designed t-shirts promoting this conservation effort. So in support of the cause here’s my tip for the month: "Take refillable bottles back to the retail outlet you purchased them from and get back a “returns” deposit!"

CANSA Fundraiser

Newsletter9a

CANSA Uthungulu arranged a “Jail and Bail”. A number of well known community leaders (all women) were jailed and they raised money for their bail. In addition we auctioned off a number of things on the day to the Boardwalk Shopping Centre’s regulars – Lucy’s vintage used wonder bra not the least of them. We […]

For all things green

You must know by now I have this thing for the environment and all things green. Well here’s a new point of view on saving the planet. It’s borrowed mind you from Paulo Coelho’s “The Winner Stands Alone”. Crudely summarised it says that man in his quest to SAVE THE PLANET is being arrogant and […]

Back on Scandal

I am back on the Scandal! set again. I must say I’ve been feeling a bit schizophrenic. I was on the Erfsondes and Scandal sets and the gigging circuit simultaneously. “Hello ladies and gentlemen I’m Cole, no I mean Chris, er no I mean Emmanuel”. Anyway Scandal! films about 6 weeks in advance so you […]

More news from the road

I had a super duper great gig in Joburg this month and one in Mokopane. It’s encouraging that my music is becoming known and the audience can now sing along. I also tried out one of my new songs entitled Everything is Angry in Mokopane. Three of the album songs were co-written by me – […]

Musically speaking…

My band and I went to Durban – Sibaya Casino to be precise. We were fortunate to have Dan Chiorboli play percussion with us on the night. Dan is the youngest person to ever play percussion for the KZN Philharmonic. Ian Henderson opened the show with 30-minutes of fantastic music from his albums. The audience […]

On TV or not on TV

Frightful business in Scandal! with Abigail being blown to bits in a car explosion. Overcome with grief(?) I disappear. I am back on the Ersondes set working like a dog and loving it. I wonder where the expression working like a dog comes from? And then we have it’s a dog’s life – a total contradiction. […]

Clammy and nervous to take the “stage”

Back in June I told you I was going to talk at an entrepreneurs forum. On the way there I was writing notes furiously. For the avoidance of doubt I was not writing and driving, I was being chauffeured (that sounds so classy – as opposed to elitist har har). The pressure was on. I […]

One for the Green Celebs

I was asked recently to do an interview for a series called Green Celebs. It wasn’t published but it did get me thinking. Not two days after I did the interview (by email) I read an article on women24.com. I can’t remember the name of the article and I can’t remember the journalist’s name but […]
