Back home again!

I am back home after 3 weeks. Saying it makes it feel so short – but it’s a long time to be away from home and a long time to be doing the same show 4 times a day, 7 days a week. It was a great cast and crew and surprisingly (I say this because things can get tense on the road) there were no frayed tempers, no arguments, just good fun. My thanks to Neil, and the cast and crew of The Flying Germ Show. This was my first performance in brand theatre and I believe the first brand theatre piece in the country. The show, a spoof of superhero and space films, attracted about 500 people a day. It was intelligent enough to appeal to adult humour and visually incredibly engaging for children. Each 30-minute show kept people actively engaged with the product/brand. It will be interesting to see where marketing goes from here.

It wasn’t the only first though – other firsts for me – I did the show in Afrikaans in Nelspruit and I performed at Innibos Festival. At times I felt a little like a fish out of water because my music genre was very different but it was a good experience and I would happily do it again. I also got a few music performances in, in Durban at Gateway and Sibaya Casino.
